Today I’m introducing a new feature on the blog called “my favourite corner”. I’ve asked some of my favourite bloggers and instagrammers to show us a little piece of their home – more specific the corner or spot they themselves love the most.
I’m very excited to have Nadia Lassen of the Danish design firm by Lassen kick off the series. I have been a long time fan of the beautiful designs of by Lassen. To me they hit the spot with their simple and timeless designs, that I will never grow tired of.
Nadia Lassen is not only part owner and head of communications and creative development at by Lassen, she is also the granddaughter of Mogens Lassen (1901-1987) – one of the master minds behind by Lassen’s iconic designs.
Nadia lives in a 290 m2 villa just outside of Copenhagen with her boyfriend and 2 year-old daughter. She has been very involved in renovating the house with focus on the details and light.
From here I’ll give the floor to Nadia:
My favourite corner is in the living room. From here I have the grand overview and can relax completely. To me it is very important to feel at ease in my home and this is where I sit relax and recharge my batteries for a new and hectic day.
I feel that the living room has really come together. It means something to me to surround myself with objects that I love. We bought the little pictures from Kristina Dam at an art fair once, the bigger picture was one of my christening gifts and the Bestlite lamp was the first piece of iconic design I invested in. I love design with a story behind it, but I don’t do too much current trends. I prefer to have objects of meaning around me.
When we first moved in this sofa corner didn’t work at all. We just couldn’t break the code. We had a classic Erik Jørgensen sofa, but it felt too small for the room and it did not encourage the cozy atmosphere a living room is supposed to have in my book.
We looked everywhere for a new sofa but could not find one we could agree on. In the end we found this sofa at IKEA and bought it as a compromise. When we brought it home, we both realised it was perfect and fitted the room.
Now I enjoy sitting here and reading books and magazines, taking in the view of our lovely garden, playing with my daughter and holding hands with my love when we unwind or watch television.
My favourite memory from this spot is from when I had just given birth to my daughter. We would sit here and enjoy ourselves. When she was little she would always lay on my stomach or on my legs so we could have eye contact. These are some of the happiest moments of my life and I often think back and remember them.

What is that miniature chair?
Lovely living room, I can understand why it is her favourite corner.
It is a 1:16 model of one of the world’s most famous chairs; The Egg chair by Arne Jacobsen. Find more info on minimii.com – they also make my dining chairs The Seven chair by Arne Jacobsen in miniature editions.
Lovely corner! and so matching.
