A new beginning

July 24, 2013

A new chapter in my life is about to begin. Next week I will be moving from my beautiful apartment. I have lived here for more than nine years. So much has happened and I have done a lot of growing up within these four walls. But it is time to say goodbye and to say hello to something new.

I love this apartment and I am saying goodbye with a heavy heart. At the same time I am so excited about the new beginning. I sold the apartment back in April, so I have had some time to adjust. And to find a new home.

I am the sort of person who grows roots, gets attached and holds on once I find a good thing. But after nine years it is time to shake things up a bit and see what happens. I believe that we create space in our lives for new things when we let go of old ones.

So I am spending my nights and weekends packing. O boy does one collect a lot of stuff in nine years!! I cleared out the basement last weekend. It’s though getting through it (especially whilst keeping up with work and life at the same time), but it feels good!
It is starting to look so empty around here as more and more things are getting packed.

The new apartment is smaller than this one (but right next to Copenhagen’s most beautiful beach, so that makes up for it!), therefore I am saying goodbye to most of my furniture aswell. In all ways this will be a brand new beginning.

I am going to miss you beautiful apartment (and sofa!). But I know, the new owners will take good care of you. xo

And guess what – a brand new apartment means a brand new canvas, that I get to decorate! I am beyond excited!

My head is bursting with ideas and projects for my new home. I can’t wait to hang these hooks for example. I am going to blog every step of the way.

It is probably going to be a bit quiet around here these next few weeks – please forgive me! I promise to check in on you any chance I get. It is going to be the beginning of something beautiful. I just know it.

Here’s to new beginnings, making space in our lives and letting go.

Rikke, you deserve a new beginning x

I’m so excited and wish I could help share in this new journey with you. You know if I lived nearer I’d have been there to help with the move but hopefully soon I/we can get to visit it in real life.

    Good Luck honey xxx
