In 1½ week the first Sunday of Advent will be here. You can’t walk into a Danish home in December without finding an Advent wreath of some sort. I don’t like the traditional pine ones. I prefer a simple, minimalistic version without too much fuss.
I have a gold one from Georg Jensen, that my dad bought me years ago. I love it and I use it every Christmas. This is a picture from last December from my Instagram feed.
And as always it will be my Advent wreath again this year (some traditions can’t be messed with!). But I wanted to show you other minimalistic versions. My wreath from Georg Jensen also comes in silver and a new addition in black:
by Lassen’s Kubus4 is perfect for the task aswell. It comes in black, white, silver and copper and looks great with a few tiny Christmas bulbs or ornaments on – or why not add a twist of green:
If you are looking for a more flexible solution, Kähler have some great options for you. First up the Avento candle holders. Comes in both green, grey and white:
Also the Candelina candle holders will do the trick. I just love ceramics:
If you like a graphic look, Designletters have these espresso cups that are the perfect size for tea lights:
Nothing says Nordic feeling quite like light wood. Ferm Living’s String candle holder is very flexible and can be bent into any shape you want – wreath or line. It also comes in a colourful version and it has four candles although you can only see three in this pic:
Many of these are flexible and neutral enough that you can leave them out all year and still get that homey, cozy Christmas feeling by adding tiny bits of green or decorations.

A beautiful selection!! X
Thank you Ruth – happy you like them. Rx
Of course -the Design letters cups! Why didn’t I think of that when I was wondering whether to buy a few on our trip to Copenhagen two weeks ago?? :D I always love creative ideas like that; how to use something in a way that completely differs from its original purpose. So thank you for the idea! :)
