I have promised you a tour of the bedroom for some time now. The pictures have been sitting on my camera for a month, I just haven’t had time to get them sorted and edited until now. But here we go! I have had so many questions about this room, so I guess it’s a bout time I invited you in. If you want to know where a certain item is from, please read the whole post, as I will be giving you all details. Enjoy the tour.
This room – like the rest of the apartment – has had a big makeover. We painted all the walls, the ceiling, the doors, the door frames and the windows white with one exception; we painted one wall grey. I had been dreaming about a grey wall for a long time, but didn’t want the hassle of painting in my old apartment as I knew I would be moving. Finally this wall came true 8 months ago (wow, it’s been 8 months already!) and I simply adore it. The colour is just right and I love the contrast is gives.
I know that I’ve already inspired a few grey walls on Instagram – and to those of you who’ve asked about the colour, it is called ‘Lady Wonderwall s4000n’ from Jotun. It has a matte finish that looks great. The lamp above the bed is a Ball lamp – more on that right here.
The bedding is my current favourite bedding from Louise Roe. I love the feel of clean, white sheets – especially really nice quality ones! Check this post for more info and pictures.
The floors are the original almost-a-100-year-old-ones. They are stained with white oil to make them lighter – I wrote a DIY guide and you can find it right here. And please ignore the ironing board under the bed, ha! I bought the rug on a holiday in Sweden last year, and the bed side table is an old discontinued IKEA stool.
To the right are a big set of double Pax wardrobes from IKEA. I love that you have so many options to make the inside fit your needs – it makes it so much easier to pick out an outfit in the morning. On the same wall as the wardrobe is a big mirror from IKEA – I actually wrote my first official post on the blog about this mirror last year with pictures from my old bedroom. This is also where I keep the laundry basket. It’s the first edition of the Vipp laundry basked, that I’ve had for 10 years. It’s since been discontinued.
This is where I keep all my jewellery, perfume, skin care and other bits and bobs.
This is also where I keep my beautiful Normann Copenhagen Flip Mirror. I wrote a whole post dedicated to it right here. The foot of the mirror is the perfect place to keep the jewellery I wear every day.
The watch was my grandmother’s. I love it so and wear it every day. It reminds me of a beautiful person, that I miss very much. I have a picture of her sitting in the frame with the heart print from Seventy Tree, in case you wondered.
On the wall next to the dressers are a set of Muuto dots (the oak ones). My bags, totes, necklaces and a few clothes items are making the rounds here accordant to my mood and the season.
The window overlooks our garden and brings in lots of light. Right now our big plum tree is in full bloom and it’s stunning.
The alarm clock was a gift from a Japanese family friend back when I was a little girl. It’s been with me ever since and I can’t imagine a bedroom without it. The clock’s colours inspired the set up in the window sill. The Hopitimist was a gift from a friend when I moved in and I love it so much that I’ve just ordered some friends for him. Everyone needs a hopping optimist in their life.
That’s it. Hope you enjoyed the tour and that the post finally answers all your questions. Have a happy Friday, dear readers. I am off to IKEA today x
