We are still enjoying life and time off at the summer house – I guess you can tell as this is the third day in a row I’m posting, hehe. Finally some much needed time for the blog, and I’m loving it!

Today we went on a little excursion to a small harbour town nearby called Havnebyen Odden by Sjællands Odde. The pride of the town is the beautiful smokehouse designed by the great, late world-famous Danish architect Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) in 1943. The smokehouse is still in full function today.

It is located on the top of a hill high above the town with a superb view of the ocean and the harbour, from where the fishermen still sail out to catch fresh fish every day.

We were planning on buying some freshly smoked herrings for lunch (a Danish speciality) and had even packed a picnic basket, so we could eat outside on the benches overlooking the sea – but the shop at the smokehouse was closed! They are only open during the summer holidays. Ah well, now we have en excuse to come back again this summer.

The weather was lovely on this beautiful spring day; blues skies and sunshine all around, so at least we enjoyed the trip even if we had to make do with only the lovely smell of smoked herrings.

Så smukke billeder. Gik tur i Hundested og omegn i påsken, og nød det smukke vejr, mit kamera var med og fik nogle gode billeder.
