This week flew by! Do you know the feeling? I am so looking forward to a weekend with time to slow down. I went to a book launch yesterday for a new book called ‘Bring home nature’ (or in Danish: ‘Tag naturen med hjem’) about bringing elements of Scandinavian nature into your home. I can’t wait to sit down this weekend with a nice cup of tea and indulge in all the beautiful pictures and projects. More to come later I’m sure – because as you know, Nordic nature is a very big love of mine.
Tonight I have a date with a very special friend who have been in my life the last 20 years. Although we don’t get to see each other so often, she is very special to me and I am looking very much forward to a night of great food and conversation. I had the honour of decorating her wedding last summer – I blogged about it here, here and here.
We are having dinner at the beautiful restaurant Höst, that has been on my list forever! The interior is exquisite and the food is supposed to be delicious – can’t wait!
I have been drinking more fresh juice lately – it’s such a great way to up your vegetable intake and load up on vitamins and micro nutrients, that are so essential to our health and wellbeing. Especially now with the cold season approaching. I have this juicer. I bought it in January and despite being quite pricey, I am so happy that I did. I love fresh juice – my favourite at the moment is beetroot, carrot, apple and ginger.
I recently saw the movie ‘Fat, sick and nearly dead’ (you can find it on Netflix, at least on the Danish version) and it really reminded my of how important what we put in our bodies every day is. I haven’t spoken a whole lot about food and diet here on the blog, but I have been making some big changes to my diet since the beginning of the year like cutting out gluten, eliminating refined sugar and starch and focusing on fresh, organic vegetables, healthy fats and organic/free range meat. I have been doing a lot of research about this field and have some strong opinions – my friends and family often come to me with questions and I love to speak about it. Is it something that you would like to read more about here on the blog? Recipes, health tips etc.? I would love to hear what you think.
Anyway have a great weekend, lovelies. I hope yours will be full of sunshine, lovely people, great coffee and time to slow down x
