My juicer have been earning its keep lately. One of my new favourites is this greenie, smack full of vitamins, minerals and nutrients. Drink a few of these a week all winter long and your cells and immune system will be singing with joy ready to kick some influenza butt.
What you need:
- ginger to taste (i use a lump the size of half my thumb)
- 2-3 stocks of curly cabbage
- a chunck of another form of cabbage – I used romanesco
- 1 avocado
- 1 lemon
- 1 banana
- a handful of strawberries (frozen or fresh)
- coconut water (I buy this organic one) – or use regular water
I use all organic ingredients to avoid pesticides and and nasty stuff, I don’t want to consume.
Look at that amount of greens – imagine having to chew through all that. That’s why juicing is brilliant for upping you vegetable intake.
What you do:
First I put the ginger and cabbage in my juicer. I have this one and I love it! Worth every penny. It’s the big model that juices, purees, makes smoothies, slices and cuts vegetables and comes with a citrus press – but the smaller model is a really good buy too. Have you seen that it is on a crazy good sale until Sunday at Magasin?
Then I pour the juice into my blender, cut the lemon in halves and press the juice in and add the avocado, banana and strawberries and blend. I add coconut water – water will work fine too, but you’ll be missing out on the healthy stuff in the coconut water – to adjust the thickness and blend again.
Voila! Drink it with a straw. It will keep your teeth safe from all the acid in the juice. Enjoy x
