Next Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent. You can’t walk into a Danish home in December without finding an Advent wreath of some sort. Traditionally they are made of pine and decorated with four candles – one for every Sunday of Advent.
I am not a big fan of the traditional one. In fact I wrote a post last year with suggestions for a modern, Nordic Advent. This year I was asked to share my own Advent wreath in the Christmas issue of Boligcious Lookbook. I styled and shot photos for the piece – I’ll share them with you here.
My advent wreath is one of the few pieces that is the same year after year. It was a gift from my dad. He surprised me with it years ago, one of the first years of grad school at a time in my lige where I couldn’t afford to buy it for myself. It is designed by Georg Jensen and covered in 24 carat gold. It reminds me of my dad and I think of him every year when it’s time to get it out.
