A fresh start via that nordic feeling

A new year has just begun, right?! I blinked my eyes and all of a sudden, March is here! Where did time go? Well I guess my long holiday explains it. Back in January I cleared all surfaces and moved everything around. I like to shake things up a few times a year, and the New Year is usually one of these times. I also framed some new prints and changed a few other things. It felt like I was surrounded by too many things and it clouded my mind and outlook. This must sound weird to some of you – many of you often comment on my home being somewhat minimalistic. But I’m telling you, it doesn’t take much to feel like it’s too much (for me anyway). Decluttering is one of my favourite things and I believe we make space for new things in our life, when we let go of old ones. I talked about this, when I moved a year and a half ago.

I have so many beautiful things. But they just can’t all be displayed at once. So some of them have taken refugee in the cupboards hiding out for the next time I am in the mood to redecorating and some of them I’ve let go off (which I talked about in this post a few days ago – and I am still adding more things to my virtual garage sale). I promised you pictures back in January, and here they finally are.

The pine tree is a left over from Christmas. I really like it, so I’ve decided to let it stay.

Some of the prints you’ve seen before. I have just moved them around from other places or gotten them out from storage. The two blue ones are new. The top one with brass printing on is from Not Another Bill – a genius concept btw! And the bottom one is by Silke Bonde from her new Blue Water limited collection. Check this guest post Silke wrote a month ago.

I have a thing for pandas at the moment. I found this beautiful postcard in a tiny book shop in Singapore by a local artist.

This is what the picture wall used to look like in case you were wondering. In the post you will also find my how to-guide for creating a great picture wall and references for some of the prints etc. (If you are looking for a specific reference for a print not mentioned in the picture wall post, have a look at the related posts below, thanks).

In the news department, I have also bought a new mirror for the living room. Those of you who follow me on Instagram have already seen a sneak peek. If you want to see the whole thing, come back on Friday. Happy Wednesday x
