IKEA is launching a new limited Kilim rug collection in Denmark only. Each rug is made by hand by Iranian women from different parts of the country. Each pattern tells a story about the area it comes from, and the tradition and handwork has been handed down from woman to woman for generations.
The rugs are made from hand-spun wool and dyed with extracts from plants like lemons, walnuts and pomegranate. The plant dye is better for both the environment and the women who makes them – and for your home environment too. The colours have been especially chosen for the collection for IKEA Denmark.
Don’t wait too long, if you plan to get your hands on one of these. Each rug is handmade and therefore unique. It’s a limited edition and will only be sold until they run out. Some are already in stores in Denmark now, some will follow in the coming months.
Prices from DKK 399-4,799 and sizes from 60×90 cm – 170×250 cm.
