Make you own simple Scandinavian Christmas decorations with elements of nature. December is just around the corner, so it’s time to start decorating (yay!). I made all of these last weekend – they are perfect for both indoor outdoor use, so this could be an idea for your front door, window or simply just to hang on the wall, a door handle or cabinet.
I used a set of iron deco wire figures from Broste Copenhagen. You can also make your own shapes with thick wire or bendable branches. To decorate the wires I used moss, different types of pine, holly, boxwood and pinecones. Any type of greens will do – it’s all up to you. I fastened the greens with green wire and used leather and velvet string to hang the figures.
I bought all the greens from my local florist, but you can go out into the woods and find your own – or perhaps even in your garden. Anything will do.
Simple heart dressed in thuja pine
Big heart dressed in moss, decorated with pinecones and leaves
Christmas tree dressed in pine
Star decorated with holly and boxwood
The big heart and the Christmas tree are now hanging on my front and back door spreading the cheer in my building. The two smaller ones are spreading the cheer inside. I can’t wait to decorate the rest of the house next weekend. I love this season so much!© that nordic feeling
