Love list #1

December 4, 2015

I am starting a new tradition today – a love list. So many things are happening in the world right now that’s making me sad. Watching the news these days doesn’t leave much hope and the long, dark winter is upon us. Well December is lit up by candles and twinkle lights, but that will all be over in about three weeks. So I thought it would be nice to share a love list that focuses on all the good things in live. Spread a little cheer and positivity – I hope you like the idea as much as I do!

Humans of New York via that nordic feeling

I’ve talked about my fascination of Brandon Stanton’s Human of New York project before. Not only do I love to follow HONY on Facebook, but I am dying to get my hands on the Humans of New York book, ranked #1 on the New York Times bestseller list.

Humans of New York began in the summer of 2010, when photographer Brandon Stanton set out on an ambitious project: to single-handedly create a photographic census of New York City. Armed with his camera, he began crisscrossing the city, covering thousands of miles on foot, all in his attempt to capture ordinary New Yorkers in the most extraordinary of moments. The book was inspired by the blog. On my wish list for sure!

My Christmas playlist on Spotify is on repeat these days. I love holiday tunes and the period where it’s acceptable to play this is so short, so we better make the most of it, right? But I do need a break from the Christmas cheer every now and again. And I have found a new song by a small American indie band called Jack & White that has captured my heart.

Brooke White is the woman behind the soulful voice in the song. I stumbled upon her profile on Instagram a long time ago and stuck around. Although we lead very different lives and live oceans apart I really admire her courage to keep it real and speak about the things that most of us are afraid to share. Also she is a time optimist and a curly-haired girl like me, so I can totally relate!

The cutest little Christmas trees from The Oak Men. Seriously, how adorable are these? I love the simple, classic look – I can’t imagine ever getting sick of these. They come in smoked an regular oak and you can buy them right here.
