The beginning of a new year always makes me want to slow down time. It just goes by so fast – it’s already the end of January, can you believe it? The older I get the more I realise it’s about finding little moments and taking time to slow down and breathe. Because stopping time is a project that will never succeed. But finding these little moments during the week can make you feel re-energised and ready for the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Especially right now during winter, when it gets dark before you come home from work and your energy levels aren’t as high as during summer.
I’ve been working with Ellos on a new collaboration entitled “A Fresh New Start”. This is the first post of three where I will share a few of my tips to make time for recharging your batteries and feeling refreshed. It’s something that I’ve been working on a lot over the last few years and have talked about on the blog from time to time (remember my yoga-pilates trip last fall?).
One of my favourite things is to find a moment during the weekend where I can take my time to just be. Preferably Sunday morning. Wake up slow, stay in bed with coffee and a newspaper or magazine, reflect upon the new week waiting around the corner and count my blessings. I think gratitude is a very important quality that will make us feel more content and happy. And we all have something to say thank you for, no matter what else is going on around us.
I’ve used a collection of my favourite things from Ellos’s new Home Collection for the styling of this post. You might not know this, but Ellos design their own in-house home collection, and it’s a good place to look for anything from soft towels to a new rug or even furniture. I am looking forward to sharing more in the next two stylings coming up later this week and next week.
The scented candle is also from Ellos, from the series called Northern inspired by Nordic nature. I do love a good scented candle! More on the Northern series coming up later.
