This time of year I always get the urge to shake things up a bit. You know; paint a wall, move the furniture around, sort through all my stuff and throw away everything that I don’t use etc. It’s just something about the new year that makes us want to change things around us. So I gave my sofa and pouf a mini make over this weekend!
You see the difference? The sofa and pouf got new legs from Prettypegs. And I painted them myself with Sadolin paint. Remember what it used to look like? Here’s a before picture:
I used the colour Apple Blossom (ON.00.87) from Sadolin’s new trend colour collection. But actually I wasn’t sure about the colour, so I started out with Foggy Blue (SN.02.77) as well. But after painting a Prettypeg in each colour I decided to go with Apple Blossom which is a very soft light grey.
It was very easy to paint the Prettepegs – I didn’t even need to sand them down first (which is usually a good idea if you are painting old furniture). I started with a layer of wood primer and followed with two layers of paint. I let them dry overnight and the next morning they were ready to go on the sofa.
Prettypegs are easy to attach and will go with any IKEA furniture and other furniture with the same fittings. It is such an easy way to update furniture or give an IKEA furniture a bit of personality. I have had prettypegs on my sofa since I bought it and am very happy with them.
Maybe you have a piece of old furniture in need of a mini make over? Go for it! Weather it is a fresh coat of paint, new legs or both – it is such an easy way to change things up a bit.
So what do you think – do you like the new look?
To make it easy for you, you can buy Pretteypegs and paint together right here.
