Today I am inviting you on a tour of the living room in the show house I decorated in Roskilde in the new residential area called Kilehusene (this post will get you up to speed if you haven’t read about the project before). Over the course of the next month I will take you on a tour of the entire house room by room, so stay tuned to see more.
I finished decorating the house a month ago after months and months of planning (check this post). It turned out quite good if I dare to say so myself. I attended the first open house and met buyers, prospective buyers and their families and I had so much fun talking to them and hearing what they had on their minds.
The living room is a great, big space filled with lots of natural light and great little nooks. Together with the kitchen (which I will share in the next post) it is the heart of the house and the place to gather family and entertain friends. A part from the big space there’s also a nook for a desk and an alcove with a little reading nook.
I chose a neutral colour palette to compliment the natural light and open space and used blue details to tie all the corners together; a blue chair, pillows, books, posters and details like tea lights and vases. I picked a handful of grains from the field just outside to bring the feeling of nature inside along with green plants spread out in the corners of the room.
Most of the interior are from BoConcept.
There are so many great shelves built into the room. It’s such a great solution for using the space in a smart way. The build in alcove makes for the best reading and sunny spot in the house!
Take a video tour of the house
I shared a video on the blog’s Facebook page that will give you a sneak peek into the process of decorating the house from the day I picked out the furniture at the BoConcept shop in Copenhagen, to the day I put everything into place at the house and even a peek at the first open house event. I am not (!) a fan of the camera and although I tried my best to hide, I didn’t completely succeed in the video, ha! Check out the video right here.
Next week I will share the kitchen and dining area with you, so stay tuned.
If you can’t wait to see the rest of the house or you want to see the house for yourself, you can! There’s an open house event every Sunday – more info right here. Want to know more about Kilehusene or perhaps buy a new house? Find more info right here.
