Today I am sharing the kitchen and dining area in the Kilehusene show house, I decorated. Last week you got to see the livingroom including desk area and reading nook. Today I want to share the heart of the house; the kitchen and ding area. This is where the family comes together to cook meals, share stories of daily life over dinner, do homework, drink wine with friends and whip up a midnight snack.
If you want to know more about the project of decorating the show house stop by this post – it will catch you up to speed. If you want to know more about the houses and the area, they are located in, this post is for you.
The kitchen is from Svane and comes in a grey or white edition. We chose the grey edition for the show house. Again I went with a soft palette of neutral colours like black, white and grey to compliment the beautiful wood floors and wooden details of the built-in book-case and bench.
As with the rest of the house I found the furniture and lamps at BoConcept and used bits and bobs from other brands to create a Nordic feeling. A few herbs in the window sill and some books and beautiful ceramics in the book-case created just the mood I was looking for.
With the dining area I wanted to create a space that would work equally good for a candlelit dinner with friends as a quick dinner on a busy weekday.
In the next photos you can get a better look at the desk corner also.
As the house is located in my old hometown of Roskilde I had to sneak one of Vissevasse’s Roskilde posters in! It got a prime spot in the book-case above the dining area.
Here I am caught in action! There was still a long way to go, when this was taken. But we made it in time for the first open house the next day.
If you can’t wait to see the rest of the house or you want to see the house for yourself, you can! There’s an open house event every Sunday – more info right here. Want to know more about Kilehusene or perhaps buy a new house? Find more info right here.
Take a video tour of the house
I shared a video on the blog’s Facebook page that will give you a sneak peek into the process of decorating the house from the day I picked out the furniture at the BoConcept shop in Copenhagen, to the day I put everything into place at the house. There’s even a peek at the first open house event in there. I am not (!) a fan of the camera and although I tried my best to hide, I didn’t completely succeed in the video, as you can se.
Over the next few weeks I will share the upstairs, so stay tuned.
By the way if you bought one of the houses go join this Facebook group and get to know your neighbours. I love that the initiative to create this group came from the buyers themselves!
